Luxury Motorhome Imports

FAQs

Motorhome import questions, answered plainly.

If your question isn't here, call or WhatsApp Eddie and ask directly.

How does the sourcing service work?

You tell Eddie your budget and what you need from the motorhome. He searches the European market, presents suitable options with a line-by-line breakdown of purchase price, estimated VRT and other costs, and you decide. Once you have chosen, you pay the supplying dealership's deposit, Eddie travels to inspect and collect the vehicle, and the import, paperwork and VRT are coordinated so it is handed over on Irish plates.

Is the initial search really free?

Yes. The initial search stage is free and carries no obligation to proceed.

Who am I buying the vehicle from?

The purchase agreement is between you and the supplying dealership. Eddie sources, coordinates and imports the motorhome; he is not the seller of the vehicle.

Where does my vehicle payment go?

The deposit and purchase funds go directly to the supplying dealership. Eddie's service fees and the estimated costs are set out separately and clearly.

Do you inspect the motorhome?

Eddie travels to the chosen motorhome and inspects it before the remaining vehicle funds are transferred — nothing further is sent until he has given you the all-clear. To be clear, Eddie is not a mechanic and does not carry out a mechanical assessment.

Is there a mechanical warranty?

Eddie does not provide a mechanical warranty. Any warranty position depends on the supplying dealership and the specific vehicle, and should be checked as part of that purchase.

Do you handle VRT and paperwork?

Yes. The import process and relevant paperwork, including VRT, are handled so that the motorhome is handed over on Irish plates ready to drive away.

What budget should I have?

As a guide rather than a rule, the service generally makes most sense for overall project budgets from around €60,000–€65,000 upwards. Below that, fees and VRT can take up too much of your buying power. Send your requirements and Eddie will tell you honestly whether it makes sense.

Can you source right-hand drive?

Stock in mainland Europe is generally left-hand drive. UK sourcing can be considered in principle, but current guidance is that post-Brexit economics often make it poor value. If you specifically require right-hand drive, Ireland or Northern Ireland may suit you better.

Do you take trade-ins?

Not at present.

Do you have motorhomes in stock?

Sometimes there are one or two high-end motorhomes available, but the focus of the business is sourcing to order. Get in touch to ask what is available.

Do you offer storage?

Yes — indoor, outdoor and undercover motorhome storage in Waterford, subject to availability.

Where are you based?

Ferrybank, Waterford.
